During the meeting where Othello was given the opportunity to lead the Venetians to victory in Cyprus, Brabantio reportedly cursed Othello. Brabantio cursed the marriage between his daughter Desdomona and Othello. He said that he was deceived by his daughter, and Othello will be deceived too. This is not the blessing that the two were hoping for from him. Othello is lucky he still has his life after the mob that went for him after his wedding. (Act 1: scene iii)

Brabantio does have a reason to be mad, but what done is done. I hope they have a long life together.

ReplyDeleteBrabantio's curse said something like this for all of you who care. "Look to her, Moor, if thou hast eyes to see:
ReplyDeleteShe has deceived her father, and may thee."
