Introduction
Through blog format, Shakespeare's play "Othello" will be told. The main focus will be on Othello and the events that lead up to his tragic death. Each blog entry will tell an important part of the plot and/or a critical piece of information involving Othello. The blog entries will be extremely similar to the plot except for some added details that do not change what really happened. This is a more modern way of telling the story of Othello and should clearly answer the question of what caused Othello to die.
Othello and Desdemona Wed Secretly!
A private ceremony with Othello, Desdemona, and Cassio occur ed last night. Othello and Desdemona were having a secret relation and decided to tie the knot last night. Desdemona's father, Brabantio , did not know of the relationship that the two were having. Shortly after the wedding, Brabantio and a mob went after to kill Othello. No one knows who alerted Brabantio of the wedding. Luckily, Othello was not injured and was instructed to meet the Duke. We will be reporting shortly of the meeting that takes place between the Duke, Brabantio, and Othello. (Act 1: scene i)
Brabantio Curses Othello
During the meeting where Othello was given the opportunity to lead the Venetians to victory in Cyprus, Brabantio reportedly cursed Othello. Brabantio cursed the marriage between his daughter Desdomona and Othello. He said that he was deceived by his daughter, and Othello will be deceived too. This is not the blessing that the two were hoping for from him. Othello is lucky he still has his life after the mob that went for him after his wedding. (Act 1: scene iii)
Othello is Shipped to Cyrpus for Battle
The Duke has pronounced today that Othello will lead the Venetians to victory in Cyprus. The moor said that the victory will be swift and victorious. Othello is a devote reader of Sun Tsu and will use the principals that Sun Tsu preaches in, The Art of War, to win the war. Othello is battle tested, and with Cassio as his second in Command, victory is certain. We should praise this moor for the abilities he possesses. Desdemona, Othello's wife, will be accompanying him to Cyprus. (Act 1: scene iii)
Fight Breaks Out at Montano's Party!
Breaking news! A fight broke out at Montano's party. The attendees say that Cassio was a little "tipsy", and he was not like himself. An unidentified man had provoked Cassio to the stage that Cassio wanted to fight. A fight broke out, but Montano jumped in to stop it. Cassio is reported to have stabbed Montano. If you know any information on the unidentified person or any knowledge on the fight, post a comment. We have now discovered that Montano is in critical condition, but will survive. Cassio's punishment is not known yet. (Act 2: scene iii)
Cassio and Desdemona's Love Affair?
It has been reported by a staff member that Desdemona and Cassio were discussing getting back Cassio's recently stripped job back. The witness saw the two talking for long periods of time. The witness also says that an affair could be occurring between the two. Maybe the curse of Brabantio is coming back to haunt Othello and his relationship with Desdemona. All that is known now is Cassio and Desdemona is forming a plot to get Cassio's old job. (Act 3: scene i)
Thief in Othello's Home
A staff member reports seeing Emilia, assistant to Desdemona and wife to Iago, stealing a handkerchief that belongs to Desdemona. Emilia has denied all accusations made. The matter has not been made known to Othello and Desdemona yet. Emilia is said to be scheduling a meeting with the staff member to resolve all issues. A thief in the home of Othello would not be good, but at least something important like battle plans were not stolen and it was just a worthless handkerchief. What is the worse that could happen with a handkerchief being stolen? (Act 3: scene iii)

Othello and Iago Bloody Partnership?
An eyewitness says he saw Othello and Iago take a blood oath. He does not know what the oath was for. I believe he is swearing an oath of allegiance to Othello and Venice due to his new promotion. Remember that Cassio was stripped of his position following a bloody assault on Montano at Motano's annual party. The witness reports Othello and Iago to be whispering, but he did say that they both looked extremely serious. The bloody oath is known to be the sacred of all bonds. Whatever they are promising to do, it must be serious. (Act 3: scene iii)

Othello is Severely Sick?
My cousin who works in the dungeon where Othello reports seeing Othello having a seizure with Iago nearby. This might spell bad news for all Venitians; Othello is renowned for his ability to win battles. Othello's health has never been called to question, but something must be wrong. Iago and Othello were having a meeting my cousin said, but he could not hear what they were saying. Iago is noted to have cared for Othello while he was seizuring. (Act 4: scene i)
Othello Beats Women!
Othello is reported to have beaten Desdemona severely. The scandal begins when Lodovico brings a urgent letter from Brabantio to Othello. No one knows why Othello hit Desdemona, but all I have to say is if he can hit her in front of Lodovico, then I wonder what happens behind closed doors? I have been getting numerous calls from staff who work in Othello's home and they are saying that Desdemona has bruises on her body. If anyone knows anything else on this, please comment. (Act 4: scene i)

Roderigo and Cassio Fight!
At approximately 11 P.M. Cyprus time, Roderigo attempts to murder Cassio. No one yet knows why he would try to kill the ex lieutenant. Roderigo is a wealthy Venetian gentleman for all of you who do not know who he is. During the fight, Roderigo is severely wounded as is Cassio. No one was reported to have saw the fight, but Iago was quickly there after it ended. Cassio's achilles heel is sliced, and Roderigo is severely stabbed. Details are still coming in on the incident. Something is up in Cyprus. (Act 5: scene i)
Mass Murder at Othello's Home!
At approximately 11:25 P.M. Cyprus time, there are reportedly three dead. Most notable are Othello and Desdomona. The two newlyweds had a fight of some sort, and it sadly ended with Othello strangling her to death. News is still coming in on this bloody night. Cassio and Roderigo are critically wounded as well; it does not look like Roderigo will survive the night. Rumors are coming in that Othello may have committed suicide or was murdered. If anyone knows more on this, please comment. A third less prominent person is dead; Emilia, wife of Iago, is dead. Our condolence goes out to Iago. (Act 5: scene i-ii)
Roderigo was In on It!
Iago is not the only man who wanted Othlello and Cassio dead. Roderigo is an accomplice in the whole thing. Supposedly, he has been in love with Desdemona for the longest time. The plans goes all the way back to the wedding night of Othello and Des. Every step of the plan was kept in a "diary" that Roderigo had. And get this, Roderigo was the man who started the fight with Montano. He must of had a brilliant disguise because no one knew he was even at the party. I hope you join me when I say Curse Iago and Roderigo! (Act 5: scene i-ii)

Conclusion
Through blog format, the reader should be able to distinguish that it was jealousy that lead Othello to his doom. Moreover, Othello's jealousy was set into motion by Iago, an indivdual held in high respect by Othello. If it was not for his infinite love for Desdemona, then Othello's life would have been spared. The blog provided the reader with this information, and it also provided it in a more modern way.
